[Role Overview]
As a Tech Launch Associate / Program Manager at the Korea Innovation Center Washington DC (KIC DC), you will be at the forefront of cross-border entrepreneurship. Your primary mission is to design and execute high-impact accelerator programs that empower South Korean technology startups to successfully enter and scale within the U.S. market. This is a strategic role requiring a blend of project management, business development, and ecosystem networking.

[Core Responsibilities]
Program Design & Execution

  • Plan, execute, and manage the full lifecycle of startup accelerator programs, including curriculum development, milestone tracking, and performance evaluation.
  • Coordinate program logistics such as scheduling, venue arrangements, and resource allocation to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Develop and refine program frameworks based on participant feedback, market trends, and organizational goals.

Stakeholder Engagement & Ecosystem Building

  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across Korean tech startups, government entities, U.S institutions, vendors, and mentors to understand their needs, anticipate obstacles to success, and solve complex problems.

Reporting & Communication

  • Deliver regular program status updates, impact reports, and presentations to senior management and Korean government stakeholders.
  • Document program outcomes, best practices, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement and institutional knowledge.

Strategic Support

  • Identify opportunities to enhance KIC DC’s support offerings, including business process optimization, technology commercialization strategies, and training programs.

[Basic Qualifications]

  • Demonstrated experience in program or project management, preferably in the startup, technology, or innovation sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders across cultures and sectors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard productivity tools.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required, including up to three weeks during peak program periods

[Preferred Qualifications]

  • Experience working in or with early-stage startups or small business environments.
  • Background in technology commercialization, market entry consulting, or business development with Korean and/or U.S.-based startups.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. startup ecosystem, including accelerators, incubators, and venture capital networks.
  • Experience working with or reporting to government agencies or public-sector organizations.

[Role Overview]
Tech Frontier program is an entrepreneurship and commercialization training initiative funded by the South Korean government and operated by the Korea Innovation Center Washington DC (KIC DC). Its purpose is to help early-stage technology teams and researchers from Korea transition their innovations toward market-ready business models with exposure to the U.S. innovation ecosystem with focus on customer discovery activities in the U.S. market. As a program manager, you are expected to plan, lead, and monitor the program for quality control while closely communicating with stakeholders both in Korea and the United States.

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of startup accelerating programs, adhering to established program management methodologies.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills

  • Proactive and tenacious work ethic
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed – may be subject to three (3) weeks of work trip in the month of July

  • Assist the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of startup accelerating programs, adhering to established program management methodologies.
  • Collect and record program impact data, while providing regular program status updates, reports, and presentations to senior management.
  • Act as a primary liaison for a branch of program stakeholders and coordinate in between to ensure the smooth and effective communication.
  • Manage the day-to-day lifecycle of a designated cohort, ensuring all the sessions and milestones are being executed.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Relevant work experience is not a requirement but will be considered favorably
  • Bilingual in English and Korean equivalent to native fluency
