KIC Tech Frontier Paid Internship (Remote) – Fall 2020

KIC Washington D.C. is seeking interns with a passion for startups to join the KIC Tech Frontier program as a collaborator and to help Korean entrepreneurs and students accelerate the commercialization of high-potential technologies. As an intern, you will have exposure to various elements of startup modules such as business model canvas, business networking, customer discovery, and business verification. Our internships are a great opportunity for currently enrolled students, recent college graduates, graduate school students, and anyone serious about helping Korean tech startups.

 

KIC Tech Frontier

The 2020 KIC Tech Frontier program is designed in collaboration with George Washington University to select the best young Korean entrepreneurs and companies and help them to grow as global market players. This program is the first step to commercialize the technologies developed in universities and laboratories in Korea.

Through the program, participating Korean young entrepreneurs and students will have a thorough understanding of the components of the Business Model Canvas and how to conduct Customer Discovery interviews.

 

About KIC

Korea Innovation Center (KIC) is funded by the Korean government on a mission to create a global startup ecosystem throughout our four locations- Washington DC, Silicon Valley, Berlin, and Beijing. We discover and incubate promising Korean technology startups by providing assets such as connections to market enablers, accelerators, and training programs. More than 80 Korean startups join us to explore the U.S market annually. We welcome leaders from various sectors to build a vibrant network between the U.S. and South Korea.

Number of hires: 10

Pay: $20

Qualifications:

–          Must be bilingual (Korean & English)

–          Have good communications and interpersonal skills

–          Attention to detail

–          Strong interest in startup, entrepreneurship, innovation is a plus

–          Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

–          Attend orientation prior to cohort start, date TBD

–          Attend virtual training sessions on the following date TBD

–          Work with the teams outside the classroom on the other days to:

          o    Provide logistical help to groups of Korean entrepreneurial and startup teams

          o    Help teams with U.S market research and customer discovery interviews in D.C

          o    Provide translation between Korean and English (& vice versa)

          o    Support program logistics/coordination as requested

–          Engage with the teaching team and KIC

–          Special projects/tasks as assigned

Program Dates

–          Tentative cohort dates: Cohort 1: October 5 – November 20, Cohort 2: October 18 – December 4, Cohort 3: November 16 – December 18

–          All candidates must be available to work approx. 10 hours/week

(They should be prepared to work mornings or and at least one night per week to accommodate program schedules)
